HIIN supported the BEYONDCSR – Blue Heritage Project in Thessaloniki, contributing to the workshop on Financing & Investment – “Who Pays for the Roadmap?”
HIIN highlighted the need to turn Blue Economy priorities into investable projects, focusing on blended finance and de-risking mechanisms that can leverage public and European resources to mobilise larger volumes of private and international capital. The intervention also stressed the importance of SME finance and impact investing, ensuring that investment generates measurable benefits for the local economy, society and environment.
As a next step, HIIN will support the development of the Blue Heritage investment dimension, helping connect promising Blue Economy opportunities with impact investors, foundations, family offices and institutional capital through its international network and upcoming investor gatherings.
